Miguel Montero got a two run homer in the third inning as the Diamondbacks took a 2-0 lead. Arizona pitcher Joe Saunders, who contributed a go ahead RBI in the sixth inning, got his 10th win of the season, and J.J. Putz picked up his 37th save of the year.
Justin Upton finished off the Rockies in the seventh inning with his 28th homer of the season.
