Diamondbacks defeat Padres 6-5 on "walk off walk"

Celebrating their World Championship Reunion weekend by playing like the 2001 World Series champions in attendance on Saturday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks extended their lead over the San Francisco Giants to 9 - 1/2 games and surpassed the Milwaukee Brewers by 1/2 game for the best record in the National League.

Two consecutive homers by Chris Young and Lyle Overbay in the bottom of the 9th forced the game into extra innings with a 5-5 tie.

Then, with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th, San Diego pitcher Joe Thatcher walked Overbay in four pitches and the Diamondbacks sauntered off the field with a 6-5 victory.
