The Power of The Resurrection
God the father enabled God the son to rise from the dead. This is a historical fact. Can you imagine such power? After enduring the painful and humiliating walk down the Via Dolorosa, a street in the old city of Jerusalem, his crown of thorns pressing painfully into his skull and laboring under the heavy weight of his cross, his side bleeding profusely from a wound inflicted by a Roman soldier’s sword, his backside bloody and cut to ribbons from whippings, Jesus allowed his captors to nail him brutally to his cross and then raise the cross to a vertical position, leaving him to hang there by his own weight, and suffer and die, sacrificing his life for our sins.
Three days later, God the father released his awesome power upon this sad event. Jesus’s heart started beating once again, defying every natural law known to man at the time, and he walked victoriously from his tomb.
Every one of us can share in the power of the resurrection through prayer. If we pray with faith, believing in this awesome power, unbelievable things can happen in our lives.
Lives of self love and excess can become lives of love and service to others.
Broken and sickly bodies can become whole: radiant, vibrant, beautiful.
Hopeless situations can become unbelievable stories of success.
The Kingdom of God is within us.
We need but look inside ourselves and call upon the "power of his resurrection".
And then watch and wait, with faith, believing . . .
